RISEN Performance Coaching Staff

2000 Olympic Pole Vault Champion Nick Hysong leads the coaching with over 30 years of experience in athletics. Excelling at all levels earning a Junior Olympic National Championship title, an Arizona High School State Championship, a High School National Championship, two PAC10 championships, a NCAA Championship, US Indoor Championship, and finally an Olympic Championship tops the list of his accomplishments. Hysong also holds The Arizona State High School Pole Vault record, and the Arizona State University Record. Nick draws upon his own personal training experiences along with his time spent, not only with his father, but with many of the top coaches, trainers and athletes in the world. Since RISEN Performance was created we have seen 10 State Champions, two bronze medals and one gold medal at the USA Junior National Championships, a Decathlon State Record, and we helped Greek athlete Katerina Stefanidi improve to become an Olympic Champion and a world leading vaulter.

Kolette Hysong She has well over a decade of experience coaching both Club Volleyball and High School. Kolette was a right side hitter for Arkansas State University's Volleyball team, and she was a 5'10" high jumper for their track team. Kolette began her coaching experience working for the Arizona Juniors Volleyball Club in the late 1990's where she moved through the ranks. Before the club disbanded Kolette spent several years assisting Bernard Ing ( A top Arizona Volleyball coach) before moving on as a head coach herself. She has since, spent her time coaching both Track and Volleyball excelling as an instructor in both disciplines. She took on a waning program at St. Mary’s High School and turned it around in 4 years finishing 5th in Arizona's 5A1 State Tournament. After a short break from High School Volleyball Kolette moved to Chaparral. Chaparral’s team was formidable under her tutelage qualifying for state each year. Kolette brings a wealth of coaching knowledge to the table.

Alex Bishop is a graduate of Brophy College Prep and the University of Kansas where he was a Big12 Champion, and a NCAA Championship Finalist. Alex is currently training and coaching here at RISEN Performance, and showed great improvement in 2016 vaulting very consistent at his previous PB and setting a new PB of 18' 1 1/4". Alex is enthusiastic and great with getting athletes fired up to perform or train. He also has a solid background in technique and physical fitness. Alex is currently studying to become a Physician Assistant, and coaching at Brophy College Prep, while he trains to improve his vaulting for the upcoming World Championships.

Natasha Kolbo is a graduate of UCLA and was a PAC12 runner up and a NCAA Finalist. Tasha has a Bachelor degree in Psychology. She also showed great improvement in 2016 vaulting consistent at her previos PB and vaulting a new PB of 14' 3 1/4". She is currently training to improve that to higher hieghts. Tasha assists with coaching, and brings a great positive attitude to the group.

Cranston Hysong is also a formidable asset, boasting 5 decades of experience and about 50 of those as coach. Hysong senior has coached many high school athletes above the 16 foot mark and has coached an impressive number of Arizona State Champions on the individual level. If that doesn't grab your attention then his multiple Arizona State High School Team Titles should. Cranston was also a mountain of support and education that landed his son a Gold Medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics Pole Vault.
